How To Extend Your Laptop Battery
The global village as they say shrinks every minutes, so are business
tools, laptops, androids, blackberry and other smart gadgets. Most
people use their laptop powered by direct current (DC), that is the
laptop battery. Most of these laptop batteries are not up to the task,
hence they need to be property catered for. I have replaced my laptop
batter more than necessary. Nothing is frustrating like one's laptop is
going off due to poor battery.
Here are steps to make your laptop batteries last longer:
TURN IT OFF
If you are not using the device, turn it off. For example, switch off the wi-fi transceiver when you are not using it.
HARD DRIVE SUCKS
Avoid necessaries using the hard discs, if your word processor is set to auto save your work every five minutes, consider changing it to every 10 or 15 minutes.
MUSIC TAKE MORE POWER
Resist temptation to place a CD while you work. Instead, covert your songs to MP3 and play them from your hard drive.
HEAT IS NOT GOOD
Find a comfortable environment. Extreme heat (over 80 degrees) makes your battery discharge more quickly.
LOW THE LIGHT
Turn down the light, use your laptop's power control utilities to automatically reduce backlighting when it runs on batteries.
CLOSE UNUSED PROGRAMS
PLAIN SURFACE
Use the laptop on a hard surface, this allows proper air circulation and prevents overheating.
STANDBY
If you are leaving your laptop for a few minutes, put it on standby. if you are leaving it for a longer period you should hibernate.
GRAPHIC
Limit the graphics use. Using a graphics or video card sucks more power.
This practice helps your batteries not to disappoint you, never forget to charge it fully before going for presentation. Have a smashing day.
