Mourinho: Rivals are scared to talk about Premier League title

The Portuguese believes some of his colleagues prefer to hide their intentions to win the title, which he claims he cannot do due to the lofty expectations at Manchester United
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hit out at the Premier League's top clubs, suggesting that they are “afraid” to say they want to win the title.

The Portuguese claims United's rivals for the league crown prefer to hide their intentions to win the title, which is something he cannot afford to do due to the lofty expectations at Old Trafford.
Speaking ahead of United's Premier League opener against Bournemouth, Mourinho said: “Many teams think they can win it (the Premier League) but they are afraid to say it, they prefer to play a defensive game in the press.

“Man United has to say on day one that we want to win the title.”

The Premier League is set for its hotest title race in decades with United having signed several high profile stars such as Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Pep Guardiola has also spent huge sums of money on the likes of John Stones, Leroy Sane and Ilkay Gundogan to push City into contention, while Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are all being backed to be in the mix.
